ON HOLY COMMUNION AND THE WORSHIP OF THE EUCHARIST MYSTERY OUTSIDE MASS

THE RELATIONSHIP BETWEEN THE WORSHIP OF THE BLESSED EUCHARIST OUTSIDE MASS AND THE EUCHARISTIC CELEBRATIONS.

1. The celebration of the Eucharist is the center of the whole Christian life both for the universal Church and for the local congregations of that Church. For " the other sacraments , and indeed all ecclesiastical ministries and works of the apostolate are bound up with Eucharist and are directed towards it. For in the most blessed Eucharist is contained the whole spiritual good of tue Church, namely Christ himself our pasch and the living bread which gives life to men through his flesh - that flesh which is given life and gives life through the Holy Spirit. This men are invited and led , themselves, their labors and all creation wth Christ.

2. Moreover, " the celebration of tue Eucharist in the sacrifice of the Mass is tue origin and consummation of tue worship shown to the Eucharist outside Mass". For in the sacrifice of the Mass Christ our Lord is immolated when he begins to be present Sacramentally  as tue spiritual food of tue faithful under the appearances of bread and wine", so also " when tue sacrifice has been offered and the Eucharist is reserved in Churches or oratories he is in truth Emmanuel, i.e. ' God with us.' For he is in our midst day and night, he dwells in us full of grace and truth.

3. There can accordingly be no doubt "that all the faithful ought to show to this most holy Sacrament the worship which is due to tue true God , as has always been the custom of the Catholic Church. Nor is it to be adored any the less because it was instituted by Christ the Lord to be eaten."

4. In order to direct and foster devotion to tue Blessed Sacrament, tue Eucharistic mystery must be considered in all its aspects, both in the celebration of Mass and in the devotion to the sacred species which remain after Mass and are reserved to extend the grace of the sacrifice.

FOUR PILGRIMS LOST LIVES

KENYAN PILGRIMS KNOCKED DEAD
Four Kenyan pilgrims have died while four others sustained injuries after a taxi lost control and rammed into a group of Kenyans trekking to Namugongo at Bugodi Village along the Iganga-Jinja highway on Sunday morning.

Police identified the victims as Joselyn Wanjala and Sarah Ajambo who died on spot, while Pelivin Malinde and Geofrey Ogaga were pronounced dead on arrival at Iganga Hospital.

Among those seeking treatment at Iganga Hospital are John Okoth, Joseph Lusenyu, Kelvin Akira and Gladesi Eduti.

The officer-in-charge of traffic at Magamaga Police Station, Ms Beatrice Apiny, said all the deceased were pilgrims from Bungoma North District in Kenya.
The group, comprising of about 100 pilgrims, is said to have started walking from Lakiri Catholic Parish in Bungoma Diocese on May 15.

Ms Apinyi attributed the accident to recklessness by the taxi driver who is on the run. She added that after ramming into the pilgrims, the car crossed the road and stopped in a nearby banana plantation.

The Dead were part of the crowd trekking to Uganda to be part of Martyrs day Celebration that is commemorated every 3rd June in Namugongo.
May they Rest in Peace.
Uganda Martyrs, pray for their dear souls.

Till we meet again.

MASOMO YA MISA [26th MAY 2019]

SOMO 1

Wasalamu.

WIMBO WA KATIKATI
Zab. 67:1-5, 7, (K) 3

(K) Watu na wakushukuru, Ee Mungu, Watu wote na wakushukuru.
Au: Aleluya.

Mungu na atufadhili na kutubariki,
Na kutuangazia uso wake.
Njia yake ijulike duniani,
Wokovu wake katikati ya mataifa yote. (K)

Mataifa na washangilie,
Naam, waimbe kwa furaha,
Maana kwa haki utawahukumu watu,
Na kuwaongoza mataifa walioko duniani. (K)

Watu na wakushukuru, Ee Mungu,
Watu wote na wakushukuru.
Mungu atatubariki sisi;
Miisho yote ya dunia itamcha Yeye. (K)

SOMO 2
Ufunuo. 21 : 10-14, 22-23

SHANGILIO
Yn. 14 : 23
Aleluya, aleluya,
Yesu alisema: Mtu akinipenda, atalishika neno langu; na Baba yangu atampenda; nasi tutakuja kwake.
Aleluya.

INJILI
Yohana 14:23-29

Yesu aliwaambia wafuasi wake: Mtu akinipenda, atalishika neno langu; na Baba yangu atampenda; nasi tutakuja kwake, na kufanya makao kwake. Mtu asiyenipenda, yeye hayashiki maneno yangu; nalo neno mnalolisikia silo langu, ila ni lake Baba aliyenipeleka.
Hayo ndiyo niliyowaambia wakati nilipokuwa nikikaa kwenu.

UNDERSTAND "JUSTICE"

"It is proper to justice, as compared with the other virtues, to direct man in his relations with others;...on the other hand the other virtues perfect man only in those matters which befit him in relation to himself/herself." This text from Summa Theologica { St. Thomas Aquinas} has the very same meaning as  Iustitia est ad alterum- Justice is directed toward the other man. The difference, the separateness of the other party is intended more precisely and literally than may appear at glance.

What distinguishes Justice from love is just this: in the relationship of justice, men confront each other as separate "others", almost as strangers. "Justice " properly speaking demands a distinction of parties.

To be just means to recognize the other as other; it means to give acknowledgement even where one cannot love. Justice says: That is another person, who is other than I, and who nevertheless has his own peculiar due. A just man is just, therefore, because he sanctions another person in his very separateness and helps him to receive his due.

"DO NOT BE AFRAID"

Today's gospel reading frim John 14:27-31 invites us all to calmness. This is a continuation from yesterday's gospel passage in which Christ himself assured those who love him, his and the Father's manifestation.

"...Do not be afraid..." Jesus tells his disciples with a lot of concern. Yes, don't be afraid coz I and the Father are in you and you're in us. When God holds you and your situation you ought not to be afraid, you ought to "be still and know that God is Lord."

But Jesus continues to give them reasons for calmness, simply because the ruler of the world beseech to destroy the good works established by the Son.

We are disciples of Christ, under different situations of life. We suffer different calaminities in our own ways. But alas! We ought not to fear. Though humanly speaking, fear exists, but spiritualy, this fear should lead us to God..." the fear of the Lord". After drawing closer to God, he gives us the graces to counter the threats of this world.

In our own time, Jesus continues to invite us daily as we partake in the Eucharistic celebrations. Every time he's offered thru the venerable hands of the priest, he comes down to us, not only consoling us but assuring us of salvation. ( 1 Thess 5:9-10)

Wishing you grace filled Tuesday.

AN INCH TO DEATH/ SANCTITY OF HUMAN LIFE

There's great need for all to understand that when you plan to travel from point A-B, God is the author and will by his grace enable you reach your destination.

However, we too guided by the Holy Spirit, ought to play s role in our travels; such as, ensuring that your seat belt is in order before the car leaves the stage, that you're seated comfortably, that the driver keeps to 80Km/hr law. Passengers on board have right to caution the driver who overspeeds, or who whilst on higher speed makes calls or replies to a text message.

The government has a role to play too to help protect lives of her subjects. There's should be trained personnel to help kill the corruption of the current officers on our roads. Passengers should try their best and capture any illegalities whilst on board .

TO ALL SACCOS / DRIVERS

Why not listen to the cry of your clients who in a special case have employed you? Why can't you react to complains raised?

Dear drivers. Whilst you got to the driving school; if at all you got in, you were docile, when you got that job, first few months you did it with passion...what happened? Are you aware you're carrying people's lives, someone's father/mother/only child/children/closest friend/someone's hope? Is that call really important than passengers lives? Is that SMS really important than other people's lives? Why risk life?

To the owners and all SACCOS:

Kindly, everyday you get a good income, ni passenger would ever board a matatu on dept unless otherwise. Kindly, check the mechanical problems of your vehicles on daily basis b4 the car leaves the stage, value that car for it gives you your daily income. Treasure your job and those who make you happy.

BE MERCIFUL LIKE THE FATHER

VOCATION's Sunday

Today the World celebrates various vocations. Our case here, there's a great need to foster and nurture the priestly and religious vocations. Yes, the Church advocates for matrimony and treasure the role those in marriage play to sustain the Church. The Church is aware of the challenges couples face and especially the young couples. This comes at a time when news of homicides and suicide among couples albecones rampart. The Church calls for patience and understanding to those facing difficulties.

Why do we need priests? Through the sacred orders, the faithful who form the member of the Church are called to celebrate their marriage and actively participate in the Eucharistic banquet.

Priests in 21st century are under pressure: challenges coming from economic, ecological, cultural, among other threats to Christian faith in the development communities.

This year, vocations Sunday comes in a time when the KCCB ( Kenya Conference of Catholic Bishops) advocates need to educate seminarians allover the country. Lead by the chairman of Seminary Episcopal Conference: Rt. Rev. Maurice Muhatia Makumba and other four Rectors of National Seminaries, they have started a Project of self sustainance called SEMINARY ENDOWMENT FUND. This project will see that Kenya Seminaries are independent and generate income of their own. Faithful are called to support seminarians when they approach them for assistance towards this project via Paybill.

As we celebrate this day: we pray that the good Lord may send many young men and women in his vineyard. A time to remember all who are in Matrimony, priestly and religious vocations.

SUNDAY - Day of the Lord

SUNDAY- The Day of the Lord:

On Sunday's the risen Lord calls all the members of his family together in order to speak to them through his living Word and to feed them with his Body and Blood. As a response, baptized men and women gather together to form the chosen people of God, an assembly in which everyone is welcomed.

They come together in faith, overcoming their differences in order to be made one by the Spirit and to live in communion with the Trinity and one another. They are a clear manifestation of the Universal Church with its variety and diversity yet united in the same faith, hope and Charity. This is the 'miracle' that takes place every Sunday in every Church instituted by our Lord- One Holy Catholic and Apostolic Church .

Our gathering together on Sunday is a very important dimension of our faith and it reveals our sense of belonging to the Trinity and to the Church. Sunday is the day of the risen Lord and of the community.

Wishing you God's blessings as you prepare to partake of the Lord's day. Keep it HOLY.
